To conduct focused and responsive research and development and technology translation leading to effective and improved means to reduce infectious disease morbidity and mortality. 

 

Overview

 

Biosciences Research Management (BRM) is a nonprofit entity engaged in research, development, test, and evaluation efforts directed at the translation of BRM advanced infectious disease agent diagnostic and surveillance systems and methods.  Primary roles are design, development, and validation of pre-analytical and analytical technologies, support of proposal development and funding application submissions, and the transfer of validated and approved technologies to end users.  Including, support of IRB human and animal use protocol submissions, clinical phase testing, and clearance activities.  Additionally, support of approval authority vector surveillance and control protocol submissions and implementation of the associated programs.  Focus is on wide and sustainable transfer of advanced infectious disease agent diagnostic and surveillance systems and methods to health care providers and public health practitioners located in resource limited settings.

Strategy

 

Our research interests are in improving analytical reliability from low pathogen concentration clinical and biosurveillance samples.  Our strategy is to focus initially on limited development exposure but critical pre-analytical technologies.  The second phase leverages early development assets with a novel and advanced engineered protein based analytical system to improve current field-expedient diagnostic capabilities.  BRM is strategically positioned to bring to bear unique expertise and experience in field-expedient surveillance and detection systems, to provide for low cost, small or large scale manufacturing of disease surveillance technologies, and to develop licensing agreements and innovative strategies to expedite diagnostic device clearance while ensuring safety and minimizing costs.
